G-Code Cloud: Product Overview

What Is G-Code Cloud?

G-Code Cloud is Datanomix's program management and compliance platform for CNC manufacturing environments. It gives engineering and operations teams a secure, centralized system for managing G-code programs and supporting production assets across the shop floor.

G-Code Cloud handles the full lifecycle of a CNC program — from secure storage and version control, to deployment to machines, to audit tracking of every change along the way. For shops handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), G-Code Cloud applies CMMC-grade security controls to ensure that sensitive program data is protected at every step.

Key capabilities include:

  • Secure program library — Store and manage all G-code programs in a centralized, access-controlled repository

  • Version control and revision history — Track every change to every program, who made it, when, and exactly what changed

  • DNC (Direct Numerical Control) — Deploy programs from the secure library directly to machines

  • Change detection and approval — Identify when programs are modified at the machine level and route those changes through a review and publish workflow

  • Integration with Production Monitoring — See which programs are actively running on which machines, in real time

Command Center

The Command Center is the primary workspace in G-Code Cloud — a unified dashboard that consolidates all program management activity into a single view.

What You Can See

  • All programs listed on the left, with full search and filtering

  • All machines displayed front and center, showing what program is loaded on each, the machine's health status, and what's currently running

  • Change indicators — programs flagged in orange have detected edits made at the machine level, requiring review

  • Production bundles — which programs have supporting documentation attached and which do not

What You Can Do

  • Search across all programs — find any file by name, number, or directory structure

  • View program details — see the code itself, full file history, and a line-by-line diff of any changes

  • Deploy programs to machines — drag and drop a program directly onto a target machine, or navigate to the machine and select the program

  • Review and approve changes — click into any flagged change, see exactly what was modified, and choose to publish it to the permanent library or discard it

  • Roll back to a previous version — if a change was published in error, restore any program to a prior known-good state

For Your Information Panel

The Command Center also includes a "For Your Information" panel — a filterable list of all programs currently on machines, programs with production bundles, and any open change requests. This gives engineers and supervisors a quick way to triage what needs attention without manually searching the full program list.

Production Bundles

Production Bundles extend G-Code Cloud's version control and audit capabilities beyond G-code programs to include all supporting production documentation.

Think of a production bundle as a digital traveler — a structured package that groups a CNC program together with every other asset needed to manufacture a part correctly.

What Can Be Included in a Bundle

Document types are fully configurable. Here are several of the most common examples.

  • G-code program

  • Setup sheets

  • Tooling sheets

  • Engineering prints

  • Inspection reports

  • Instructional videos

All assets in a bundle are version-controlled, revisioned, and auditable — the same way G-code programs have always been managed in G-Code Cloud.

Why This Matters for Compliance

If your shop handles CUI, that information doesn't only live in the G-code — it can also exist in prints, setup instructions, or tooling documentation. Production Bundles allow CMMC-grade security and audit controls to apply to all of that content, not just the program file itself.

Integration with the Machine Operator HUD

Production Bundles integrate directly into Datanomix's Production Monitoring platform. When an operator is clocked into a machine and a bundle is associated with the active program, the setup sheet, tooling information, print, and any instructional video are all available directly in the Machine HUD — the same interface they already use for performance monitoring and quality dispatch.

Program Compliance and Standardization Scanner

The Compliance Scanner is a new tool in G-Code Cloud that analyzes your entire program library to identify gaps against internal standards and compliance frameworks.

The Problem It Solves

Most shops have G-code programs written by multiple people over many years, often without a consistent standard enforced across all files. Program headers may be missing revision numbers, author information, target cycle times, or tooling data — on some programs but not others. Without a systematic way to audit the full library, those gaps are invisible until they cause a problem.

The Compliance Scanner makes those gaps visible in seconds.

What It Checks For

The scanner identifies missing or non-standard elements in program headers and comments, including:

  • Revision information

  • Author/programmer attribution

  • Part number conventions (including the PN= format used by Datanomix for automatic program identification in production monitoring)

  • Target cycle times and setup times

  • Tooling information

  • Custom fields defined by your organization or required by a customer

Results are sortable and filterable — you can quickly see all compliant programs, all non-compliant programs for a given field, and exactly where in the file the issue exists.

Contextual Help and How-To Videos

G-Code Cloud now supports version-controlled instructional videos that can be attached to programs or machines and surfaced directly in the platform.

Where Videos Appear

Videos can be delivered in two places:

  1. Command Center Help Panel — accessible via the help icon on any machine tile; operators and engineers can pull up a video walkthrough for how to load, run, or set up a specific program or machine

  2. Machine HUD — videos attached as part of a Production Bundle are available directly in the operator's heads-up display

Version Control for Video

Like all assets in G-Code Cloud, videos go through the same review and approval workflow. They can be updated, versioned, and rolled back — ensuring operators always see current, approved instructions.

Configuration

Videos can be assigned on a per-machine or per-platform basis, giving shops the flexibility to provide machine-specific setup instructions without creating confusion across different equipment types.
